The shape of things to come -- Builders &suppliers give shape to dreams

By Rick Killion, Prairie Business Magazine
Published Friday, February 01, 2008

“There are legends lurking in the shadows of many construction projects across the Northern Plains . . . names that have become synonymous with high quality, dedication to excellence, and a steadfast commitment to the customer.

Among the craftsmen and women who have taken the stage among the giants of the contracting community are the names of employers that have left a lasting legacy to the individual skills of their employees and the suppliers from the region that can (and do) put their quality up against any in the nation.

Olaf Anderson & Son Construction Company is another Fargo firm with a rich history dating back to 1913 when Olaf built barns and houses, with his son Bud turning more attention to houses, and then Tracy Myers moving the company into commercial construction with the family's third generation, Bob Anderson.

"The region surrounding Fargo-Moorhead has always remained steady over the years," confirms Jeff Furstenau, president and an engineering graduate of the University of North Dakota in Grand Forks. "Now, we specialize in design/build construction of commercial and light industrial projects in the Dakotas, Minnesota, Iowa, and Wisconsin. Our repeat business has been our strength due to an attention to customer service. We try very hard to return all phone calls within an hour."

Currently constructing the Urban Plains hockey arena (a high-profile subject in the area), Olaf Anderson has built many of the structures in the Fargo Industrial Park with a crew of about 95 employees in the peak building season.”
